Shipping & delivery
How an outfit gets to you and back again — courier and local pickup, tracking, the seller’s dispatch deadline, returning on time, and what to do when a parcel goes wrong.
Two ways to get the outfit
Which options are available is set by the seller and shown on the listing before you book.
Courier delivery
The seller books the outfit with a courier and hands it over. The carrier and tracking number are recorded against your order so you can follow the parcel without chasing anyone for an update.
Local pickup
Where a seller offers it, you collect the outfit in person and hand it back the same way. There is no courier leg and no delivery charge. Both handovers are confirmed with a one-time code.
One order, one parcel
Each order covers a single outfit from a single seller. Rent two pieces and you get two orders, tracked and delivered independently — they will not necessarily arrive together.
From checkout to your door
Every stage below is timestamped on your order page, so you can always see exactly where the parcel is in the process.
- 01
You place the order
You choose courier delivery or local pickup at checkout, where the seller offers both. Your delivery address is captured at this point and frozen onto the order.
- 02
The seller accepts
The seller confirms they can fulfil your dates. If they decline, the order is cancelled and refunded in full and nothing ships.
- 03
The seller marks it ready to ship
The outfit is cleaned, checked and packed. From this point the order is locked — it can no longer be cancelled by either of you.
A 48-hour SLA starts here. The seller has that long to hand the parcel to the courier; if they miss it, the system can cancel the order and refund you automatically.
- 04
Handed to the courier
The carrier and tracking number are recorded on your order, and the shipment moves through picked up, in transit and out for delivery as the courier scans it.
- 05
Delivered
Delivery is timestamped against the order. Check the outfit as soon as it arrives and report any problem the same day, with photographs.
Sending it back
The return matters as much as the delivery — someone else’s booking usually starts once your preparation buffer ends.
- 01
Mark the return
On or before your return date, mark the return on your order page. This tells the seller the outfit is on its way back and starts the return leg on the order record.
- 02
Send it back the way it came
Courier orders go back by courier; pickup orders are handed back in person using the return code. Pack it in the packaging it arrived in, with everything that came with it.
Get a tracking number for the return and add it to the order. Without one you have no proof you sent the outfit back, which is a bad position to be in if the parcel goes missing.
- 03
The seller receives and inspects
The seller has an inspection window to confirm the outfit came back as it went out. If they raise damage, it becomes a claim reviewed with evidence from both sides — not a decision they make alone.
- 04
Deposit released
Once the inspection clears, your security deposit is released and the order completes.
Delivery problems and what to do
Report from the order page rather than by message alone. A report on the order creates a record with a timestamp, which is what any claim is later decided on.
Parcel is late
Check the tracking on your order first — most delays are visible there. If it is going to affect your event date, raise it on the order so it is on record before the date passes.
Delivery attempt failed
Couriers usually retry. If the shipment shows a failed attempt or has been returned to sender, report it from the order page and it is handled as a delivery dispute.
Arrived damaged
Photograph the parcel and the outfit before doing anything else, and report it the same day. Damage in transit is a recognised claim category, assessed on exactly that evidence.
Wrong item or not as described
Report it immediately with photographs, before your event rather than after it. A report on the day of delivery is treated very differently from one made a week later.
You will return it late
Message the seller before the return date, not after. A late return blocks the next renter and can lead to a deduction from your deposit.
Return went missing
This is why the return tracking number matters. With it, a lost return is a courier problem and gets handled as a delivery dispute; without it, it is your word against the seller’s.
Shipping questions
What does delivery cost?
Any delivery charge that applies to your order is shown in your order summary before you pay — you are never charged an amount you have not seen. Local pickup carries no delivery charge at all. Because sellers arrange their own courier, the cost depends on the seller, the route and the courier they use.
Who arranges the courier?
The seller does. RentNShine does not book shipments on sellers’ behalf; the seller ships with the courier they use and records the carrier and tracking number against your order. That is what you follow the parcel with.
How long does delivery take?
That depends on the courier and the route between you and the seller, so we do not quote a fixed figure. What we do commit to is the seller’s side of it: once they mark an order ready to ship, they have 48 hours to hand it to the courier. Track the parcel from your order page after that.
Which cities do you deliver to?
RentNShine operates across Pakistan, and courier delivery is available wherever the seller’s courier reaches. Local pickup is naturally limited to the seller’s own city. Check the listing before booking if you are outside the major cities.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
Your address is captured at checkout and frozen onto the order. If it needs to change, message the seller through the order immediately — and certainly before they mark it ready to ship, because the order locks at that point.
Do I have to use a courier for the return?
Return it the way it came. If it was couriered to you, courier it back and record the tracking number on the order. If you collected it in person, hand it back in person using the return code.
What if I am not home when the courier arrives?
Couriers generally reattempt delivery, and the attempts show on your order tracking. Give an address where someone can receive a parcel during working hours — an office address is often better than a home one.
Can I collect in person instead of paying for delivery?
Only if the seller offers local pickup on that listing. Where they do, it is shown as an option at checkout and the handover is confirmed with a one-time code at both collection and return.
